This Chardonnay brings together fruit from two distinct vineyards across the Yarra Valley, each contributing its own character to the final blend. Our Siwa vineyard at Kellybrook in Wonga Park is defined by old vines, shallow topsoils and a clay and shale base. This site delivers intensity, depth and power. In contrast, the Full Moon vineyard in Gladysdale, in the cooler Upper Yarra Valley, brings natural acidity, freshness and delicate aromatic lift. Together, these contrasting sites create a harmonious blend that is greater than the sum of its parts. All batches are whole-bunch pressed, wild fermented and matured in French oak, with 10% new oak. A small portion of the blend undergoes malolactic fermentation, adding subtle complexity and texture. Our aim is to create an approachable Chardonnay that allows the fruit take centre stage. Oak remains a gentle supporting element, allowing the flinty nuances and vibrant citrus characters that define modern Yarra Valley Chardonnay to shine. Appearance Pale straw with subtle green hues. Aroma An inviting combination of nougat, lemon curd and peach, complemented by floral notes of star jasmine, almond and a delicate hint of flint. Palate Powerful yet finely balanced, with an interplay of vibrant acidity, energy and texture. Fresh lime juice, white peach and grapefruit drive the palate, flowing into a lively, clean and refreshing finish. Food pairing Perfect alongside steamed mussels with garlic and white wine sauce.
