2023 Edenesque Pinot Noir

This is our blend of hand-picked Pinot Noir grapes from our home vineyard, Siwa, and the Willowlake and Full Moon vineyards (both in the upper Yarra Valley).

On first glance, the colour is a captivating ruby red and the aroma is bursting with freshness and complexity. Hints of raspberry, fresh strawberry, dark cherry and savoury forest floor combine with sweet spice notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and light, toasty French oak shine on the palate.

This wine shows the classic Pinot red fruit tones and gives way to Davidson plum and stewed rhubarb. The tannins are deliciously soft and rounded.

Tasting Notes

Winemaking and Tasting Notes

We find the upper and lower Yarra Valley Pinot Noir fruit blend beautifully together. The upper region fruit gives lots of pretty fruit lift and bright top notes, while the lower region fruit provides power, sweet fruit palate weight, length and texture.

Each parcel of fruit was individually assessed and fermented in a variety of ways to ensure we had multiple blending options. After pressing, we sent the dry fermented wine to French oak, of which 20% is new oak. The wine spent 10 months in oak, prior to blending and bottling, which was done around Christmas time. Lacy tannins and soft integrated acid hold the wine together beautifully. Drink now and over the next 6 years.
